Young Blue Heron
Oil on wood panel 6 x 10 - SOLD
These gorgeous creatures are visible in many of the landlocked bodies of water here at the coast. I still stop and stare when I see one and if I'm lucky I get a decent photo.
What a MARVELOUS painting. The water and reflection are amazing. I adore the Blue Heron. We have an wonderful place in NM - Bosque del Apache, and I go to see the Blue Herons. From a distance they look like the Sandhill Cranes but the ranger told me if they are on their own then it is likely the Blue Heron - the Sandhill Cranes socialize more. The thing I find interesting is the BH nests in a rookery and the SC nest individually. Go figure!
