South of Wheeler

11 x 14" Oil on stretched cotton canvas - SOLD

I'm starting a series of landscapes from right around my home.  The natural beauty is mind boggling so that endeavor was inevitable.  This a view of Nehalem Bay at dusk just south of the town of Wheeler on the northern Oregon Coast.

  1. The value of the reflections of the sky in the bay are just right , Lauren!

  2. This is a beauty! Lovely sense of light and distance and beautiful warm tones to offset all the cool. I will take photos and notes at Workman's workshop. Utah seems to produce such great landscape painters—love Fryer's work, bought an Art Collector magazine that featured him and just visited his blog—yes, swoon! Aaron Bushnell is also very good. I will look up Eric Hanson. Thanks for visiting my blog.
